Modern Systems just wrapped up a large legacy systems assessment for a US government entity. The results of the assessment will act as the foundation for a broader set of legacy modernization projects. Our experts were tasked with assessing and evaluate their existing mainframe systems by performing discovery, analysis and documentation of the application components (code, programs, procedures, maps, languages and databases) revealing and categorizing all dependencies across applications. The objective was to reveal and categorize uses, unused, duplicate, standalone, and missing components so the customer could get an estimate the cost and support services to complete a refactoring of these applications.
