A global aerospace manufacturer is undergoing a proof of concept with Modern Systems for the preservation of former IMS mainframe data in an Oracle database. Modern Systems will use its automated technology to generate a replacement database for the sample consisting of 3 DBDs with 12 segments, deliver the proof of concept to the customer, and aid in developing a project plan for the larger data archive initiative.

Canadian Insurance Organization preparing a Roadmap

Modern Systems began a mainframe software assessment with Fujitsu consulting for the benefit of a large Canadian insurance company. The software assessment is being performed using advanced technology from Modern Systems. Language types include COBOL, ADS/Online, ADSA , ULTIM, JCL and more. The organization has used IDMS, DB2 and VSAM in the past and plans to define a roadmap for the future using the Modern Systems assessment process and the Enterprise Application Viewer portfolio management suite.
