Large Financial Institution Converts from IDMS ADS/Online to Oracle/COBOL on Unix

Modern Systems completed the conversion of a large financial institution from IDMS ADS/Online to Oracle and COBOL running on a Unix platform. The conversion involved 76,000+ components and 17 million lines of code. The new applications support over 1500 concurrent users and process over 3.5 million daily transactions. The applications have over 380 interfaces and 2000 screens. The performance was exceeded by 100% on Oracle.

US State Agency Reduces Scope of Conversion Project from Natural to C# After Assessment Results

A US State agency wanted to know what options they had to move from their legacy Adabas/Natural platform. Modern Systems performed a completely automated assessment of their existing application and discovered only 2,300 of the 3,900 components were being used. This reduced the scope of the task significantly and Modern Systems was able to provide cost and time frame estimates for both a conversion to C# on a variety of databases or a modernization effort to C# or Java. State Government Requests Assessment of Legacy VSAM System for Migration Plan

A state government agency was researching the possibility of modernizing their legacy VSAM applications. Modern Systems performed an assessment of the existing legacy applications and provided options for migration. During the assessment process over 3,500 components and 2.2 million lines of code were determined to be in use by the applications that are in-scope for the modernization. UCSB Converts to C# .NET with SQL Server from Adabas/Natural

The University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), had been using ADABAS and Natural for all of its student and administrative functions for many years. UCSB wanted a more agile and less expensive solution which would take full advantage of the web and preserve their business rules. Modern Systems completed the assessment process, reducing the scope of the project from 11,000 source code components to 7,000, and is nearing completion on the conversion. The new applications are C# .NET and use Microsoft SQL Server.
