Dallas, Texas – (March 27, 2019) — Modern Systems, a leader in application modernization, today announced that its Modernization Platform as a Service (ModPaaS™) is available on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Marketplace.
ModPaaS is a cloud-based platform that allows customers to analyze and modernize their legacy application systems in a collaborative manner.
ModPaaS gives customers access to Modern Systems-developed modernization solutions as a service on Google Cloud Platform. It can be used in a self-service manner, with assistance from Modern Systems’ modernization specialists, or in a fully-managed approach similar to traditional project engagements.
ModPaaS provides customers with the following features and benefits:
- Attain a comprehensive assessment of existing legacy applications.
- Categorize objects and applications to determine disposition options and drive ongoing modernization initiatives with varying levels of assistance.
- Select and extract code for modernization. For example, code can be selected that is specific to the UI layer or data access objects to advance microservices development efforts.
- Trace and isolate COBOL and Natural based business rules which can be reused for reengineering efforts; define business terms to automatically identify and map application variables to a defined business term.
“Application modernization as a strategic imperative continues to move higher up on the list of CIO priorities, with many customers looking to move away from monolithic systems and toward macro and microservices architectures,” said Brandon Edenfield, president and CEO, Modern Systems. “Availability of ModPaaS on Google Cloud Platform will extend ModPaaS’ capabilities to an even wider audience.”
